Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle. Next meeting: 7 p.m. May 7Hambone’s 4207 Butler Street, Lawrenceville
412-681-4318, hambonespgh.comSuggested assignment: Write a bass line into a song.

Hey songwriters,

Of the 30 members who attended the April 2 meeting, about a quarter of them did the assignment and wrote a song with a false ending, another dozen added a short bit to the end of a song and called it a false ending and everybody laughed about the assignment. Hey, win some lose some (but it worked great for The Beatles on “Hello Goodbye”).

Start laughing now — the assignment for the 7 p.m. May meeting at Hambone’s is to write a song with a bass line (worked great for The Beatles on “Blackbird”). See the Monthly Assignments page for details.
