Songwriting assignment: Start the new year by getting out of your comfort zone. Write a song in a groove you haven’t explored before, or reinvent one of your previous songs with a whole new vibe.
Covid safety: The Starlite follows all state and county Covid prevention rules, and the backroom will be cleaned before our meeting. Participants will be separated by 6 feet and required to wear masks when not eating, drinking or singing. If you’re sheltering at home, or just can’t make it to the meeting, record a video of yourself showcasing an original song and post it at Facebook Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle by 7 p.m. Wednesday (for help contact Sue Gartland at suegartland@juno.com). We’ll play your recording, discuss the song and later email comments to your address.
CD distributionCDs will not be available at the meeting. Participants can get their CDs and group subsidy of the first recording hour at producer Mike Hickman’s Electric Eye Recorders studio (3347 Melwood Ave., Polish Hill, 15219). Make a pickup appointment at 512-785-2132 or studio@fallguys.net.
