Hey songwriters,
As we virtually speak this year’s album project is being pressed and printed — CDs should be on my doorstep soon. Below, see which artists will perform on which night at our CD release shows Nov. 30 and Dec. 7. Performance order and times pending. (For the record, two album participants will not play at the release shows: Mo Nelson is wintering in Florida; Derrick Devilla moved to Hawaii with another Circle member, Melanie Pomerantz).
Both performances are 7-10 p.m. at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, 6300 Fifth Ave. (corner of Fifth and Shady avenues), Shadyside, 412-361-0873. Admission $7, children 12 and under free. Off-street parking free.
One of the highlights of last year’s Songwriters Circle fund-raising raffle was the inclusion of independent albums by Circle members and Calliope members. As always the raffle is in need of Songwriters Circle compilation albums — any year is appreciated, CDs from the series’ first several years would be a huge help. Whether you’re on this year’s project or not, please consider donating one or more of your albums. Deadline Nov. 27. I can receive CDs every Tuesday evening at Bloomfield Bridge Tavern, or meet you weekdays Downtown. Drop them off Saturday if you attend my Halloween party, or mail CDs to John Hayes, 101 Daggette Dr., Buena Vista, PA 1501.
