February 2019 Meeting RECAP

Hey songwriters,

An abundance of quality discussion and songs were apparent at the last couple of Songwriters Circle meetings. New members, new views, new tunes.

Highlights of the February meeting included assignment songs showcasing a diversity of clever lyrical intros presented in jazz, folk and old music styles, and a home recording of a killer tune beautifully sung and performed on a traditional pedal harp by new member Jessica Victoria (Jessicavictoriasongstress@gmail.com).

At the meeting, March 5 at Hambone’s (4207 Butler St., [Lawrenceville] Pittsburgh, PA 15201, 412-681-4318, hambonespgh.com ) we’ll return to a suggested assignment that worked very well last year. In your own style rework a popular song that most members are likely to know. Don’t just cover it, make it your own. Read more about the assignment at the Monthly Assignments page on the group website.
