January 2019 Meeting RECAP
Hey songwriters,
The New Year assignment to write a song about something “new” generated more Dr. Suessical “gnu” songs than the world needs. But with just under 20 participants there was time for everyone to showcase a song and talk at length about the arts and crafts associated with songwriting.
The Jan. 21 Songwriters Circle featured set, which happens every third Monday at Mr. Small’s Funhouse (400 Lincoln Ave, Millvale, PA 15209), will feature Circle member David Hawkins (hawkman.music@gmail.com). David starts between 8:20 and 8:30 p.m. Please support this monthly opportunity with your free attendance.
The next Circle meeting will be held 7 p.m. Tue., Feb. 5 at Hambone’s (4207 Butler St., [Lawrenceville] Pittsburgh, PA 15201, 412-681-4318, hambonespgh.com ). The suggested assignment is to write a song with a lyrical intro that does not repeat in the song. It’s an old trick used to lure in listeners before setting the hook with the whole song. See you soon,
