August Meeting
Hey songwriters,
At the height of vacation season, about a dozen showed up for the August meeting of Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle. No takers on the “rap” assignment, but with several new members in attendance we spent a lot of time discussing songs presented for critique and the writing process, before a well-presented featured set by David Michael King (kingsomma@igc.org).
Next meeting is 7 p.m. Tue., Sept. 3 with featured performer Nick Powers (yabaworld@live.com). The optional songwriting assignment is to finally finish an unfinished song.
Album project
No bumps on the road to this year’s compilation album project. Producer Doug Wilkin (djwaudio@comcast.net) says sessions are going well with no drop-outs so far among the 27 participants. Don’t forget the Aug. 23 deadline for credits text included on the CD insert, which is now under construction by Steve Gallo (tunnels@comcast.net) and me. Please list credits like this:
“Song Title” by Bob Brown (professional affiliation, if any – ASCAP, BMI, etc.).
Bob Brown: vocals, guitars. Steve Smith: bass. John Jones: percussion.
Send credits to me at this address. The recording deadline is Aug. 30.
