February Meeting Recap
Hey songwriters,
A hot songwriting assignment, four new members and a good turnout turned the Songwriters Circle’s Feb. 3 meeting into a memorable one. Political song opinions stretched from embracing traditional American values to, well, not so much, and genres ranged from country to hip hop. Smart discussion ensued.
Group webmaster Dennis Malley (denmalley@gmail.com) has been working with his looping setup since we saw him last at the CD release event in November. His featured set included cool new songs and creative looping.
The next meeting of Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle will be 7 p.m. Tue., March 3 at Bloomfield Bridge Tavern. The topic of the optional songwriting assignment is “food,” and Theresa Schneider (schneidertm2@gmail.com ) will perform the featured set.
2016 album project
Really? I still haven’t caught my breath after last year’s 33-song CD and 10-year retrospective. Nevertheless, the 11th CD project in our annual album series will launch at the Circle’s March meeting. Attending will be our new producer, Mike Hickman (studio@fallguys.net) from Electric Eye Recorders (www.electric-eye-recorders. com). The meeting will be a good opportunity to meet Mike and ask questions. A full overview of the project — including fees, timetable, rules and contact information — will be attached to the March newsletter.
See you soon,
John
