JANUARY 2021 NEWSLETTER
Hey songwriters,
The first meeting of the new year was more productive than some of our gatherings in Covid-ravaged 2020. Fortunately, we were welcomed by an open venue, the Starlite Lounge in Blawnox, where a small group circumnavigated the Circle twice sharing songs, discussing lyrics and melodies and experimenting with unfamiliar vibes.
Victoria Montgomery (vmontgomery519@gmail.com) workshopped a recording of an unfinished song unlike her previous work, and the group welcomed a new member, Craig Veltri (craigveltriofficial@gmail.com), who returned to Pittsburgh with some solid contemporary country songs written while living in Nashville.
The songwriting assignment for February is to structure a song that begins with its chorus. Find examples on the Monthly Assignments page at PittsburghSongwritersCircle.org.

Participants who haven’t procured their CDs and $25 recording cost subsidy are reminded to contact producer Mike Hickman (512-785-2132, studio@fallguys.net) by Jan. 15 to make pick-up arrangements at his Electric Eye Recorders studio (3347 Melwood Ave., Polish Hill, 15219).
