NO MORE MEETINGS AT CLUB CAFE (August meeting cancelled)
Hey songwriters,
Club Cafe is changing its format, phasing out most of its shows featuring Pittsburgh artists to be a full-time concert venue. Among the first things to get the ax was the open stage and by extension the monthly Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle meeting.
With the counsel of a half dozen Circle members I’ve been working for about a week and a half to set up new digs. But I’m out of time — the first Tuesday is days away. So here’s the deal: The August meeting of Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle is cancelled.
That said, Tue., Aug. 7 can still be your “get out and play music” night. Let’s skip the give-and-take critiquing and meet up at the open stage at Hambone’s (4207 Butler St., [Lawrenceville] Pittsburgh, PA 15201, 412-681-4318, hambonespittsburgh.com). Signup is at 7 p.m., the music starts at 8 p.m. and the host is longtime Songwriters Circle supporter and brilliant song craftsman Chet Vincent (chet.vincent@gmail.com).
The meeting space snafu doesn’t change our CD schedule. If you’re on the project email your credits to me by Aug. 24 to accommodate graphic design. The recording deadline is Aug. 31.
Producer Mike Hickman can be reached at 512-785-2132, studio@fallguys.net.
See you at Hambone’s
