NOVEMBER 2020 NEWSLETTER
Hey songwriters,
At the group’s second pandemic-era meeting at The Starlite Lounge in Blawnox, attendance was predictably low — about 10 people — despite two new members. Interesting songs were showcased and critiqued including a song posted to the group’s Facebook page by Paul Eisert (eisert.paul@comcast.net). We struggled a bit with the technology to make the song heard, and expect to improve on that at the next meeting, Wed., Dec. 2.
The songwriting assignment: Explore diminished chords and write a song that includes them. Learn more about diminished chords on the Monthly Assignments page at the group website, pittsburghsongwriterscircle.org.
CD project
Been there, done that. Masters of the 28-song two-disc collection were uploaded and graphics sent this week. Great work by producer Mike Hickman (studio@fallguys.net, 512-785-2132 ) and graphic designer Debbi Pace (woodrose2007@verizon.net), and thanks go out to all participants during this difficult year. Our shipment is expected before the end of the month.
No CD release event this year — too many particulates filling the air at a big indoor event. When this thing is over, maybe we can do some kind of show.
Hope to see you soon,
– John
